February 12 The problem of eurocentrism Atlantic revolutions part 5 chapter 16

"During the century and a half between 1750 and 1914 sometimes referred to as the " Long nineteenth century," two new and related phenomena held center stage in the global history of humankind and represent the major themes of four chapters to follow. The first of these explored in chapters 16 and 17, it emerged from the intersection of the scientific, French and industrial revolutions, all of which took shape initially in Western Europe. those societies generated many of the transformative ideas that have guided human behavior over the past several centuries that movements toward social equality and the end of poverty was possible that ordinary people might participate in political life that nations might trump empires that women could be equal to men that slavery was no longer necessary. In the world of the Atlantic revolutions ideas born of the enlightenment generated endless controversy.

were liberty and equality compatiable? what kind of governemtn unitary and centralized or federal and decentralized best ensured freedom and how far should liberty be extended except in Haiti the chief beneficiaries of these revolutions were propertied white men of the middling classes. although women slaves native americas and men wit without property did not gain much from these revolutions, the ideas that accompanied those upheavals gave them ammunition for the future. because their overall thrust was to extend political rights further than eve before, these Atlantic movements have often been referred to as a demotractic revolution. A final distinctive feature of the Atlantic revolutions lies in their immense global impact, extending well beyond the atlantic world. the armies of revolutionary france for example invaded Egypt germany Poland and Russia carrying seeds of change".

So learning from this chapter/book they are discussing on how the social changes that were happening in their economy helped them change as people and helped more discoveries to come alive, they even ended slavery because their was really no point of having it anymore to when they discovered all these others discoveries   around the world. They were even at one point discussing on how women can even now be equal to men and their might not even be anymore issues anymore between gender and race, and if anything we all unite and help one another succeed and move forward as one. That is my idea/ opinion on what I jotted down from this chapter and notes so to when I come back to this I would know exactly what I would want to wright about to when answering a question like this on a quiz or test. All the infromation I jot down on the blogs come from the history book, That is my resource.l
